Transport

Cars are widely available for all budgetary requirements from the exclusive to the budget second hand cars available at the car market.  Car prices are extremely reasonable, with new cars being approximately 60% the price in the UK.  Rental cars are also very reliable and reasonable in price if you do not wish to worrying about maintaining a car.  Second hand prices are low, although resell value on second hand cars is also low.  Expatriates are able to purchase cars on hire purchase terms for up to 4 years.

Kuwait public transport bus fare (one way) is between 150-250 Fils for a trip of about 10-15 Km. Most of the buses are air-conditioned and run on schedule, although they tend to be extremely busy in the mornings, and after Ministry working hours.

Taxis are readily available by call or to flag down on the roadside, and the fares are reasonable, although they could get a bit expensive if you use them as a main form of transport.

Car-pooling is commonly arranged for bachelors living together, and can be easily arranged to get to and from work.
