Accommodation

Expatriates have to rent accommodation, and rental prices are standard for the Middle East.  Apartment complexes range considerably from purpose built expatriate compounds, apartment buildings, to Kuwaiti residential villas (whole or floors rented).  Likewise rental prices range considerably from executive type complexes near to the Central Business District (CBD), to budget apartments and studios near to the refineries.  Once again, there is enough variety in the Kuwait property market, to find accommodation that suits your budgetary and lifestyle requirements.

Estate agents are readily available to find accommodation that you want, they tend to be frustrating and can become over zealous in trying to find you a place to stay.  If you use an agent to find accommodation, it advisable to make sure they are aware of what price to look for and which areas you are interested in, or else they will cover a large area.  Agents will drive you around until you find a place, however their fees are usually ½ or 1 months rent when you sign the lease agreement.
