  Visas

UAE exercises a visa system for all foreign visitors, and a residency system for expatriates working in UAE.  Subject to certain nationality requirements you may be able to obtain a visa upon entry, however you should check prior to travelling.

VISITS

A visit visa is required to travel to UAE , however as above it may be possible to obtain upon entry. A visit visa can be obtained by: 

Application from a Company registered in UAE.

Application from a Family member, resident of UAE.

5* Hotel providing you stay at the hotel during your visit.

UAE Embassies

WORKING

A working expatriate must obtain a work visa, followed by residency formalities in order to legally work in UAE.  The following procedure is required to be completed:

3 – 15 days.

Translation & Ministry of Foreign Affairs Stamp

3 working days

Passport Copies & 4 x Passport Photographs - Apply for Work Visa 

7 working days

Work Permit - It would take a week to process the Work Entry Permit from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour. 

5 working days

NOC (No objection) Work Visa - Process the NOC work visa at the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Interior, depending on the nationality.  Some nationalities are difficult to obtain an NOC.

1-7 working days

Medical & Blood Test  results.

2 working days

Residency Stamped on to his/her passport this includes the time need to process his/her formalities with Ministry of Health

1 working day

Civil ID - Application for UAE Civil ID card

1-2 working weeks

Driving Licence - Apply for driving license if necessary.

5-28 working days

If the person is already resident in UAE and transferable with an NOC from their current employer, then the time period would be reduced to a maximum of one week.
