The UAE is considered to be one of the best in the Middle East in its range of outdoor activities, and hosts a wide range of international sporting events, including tennis, golf, football, and water sports.  In addition there are cooler pastimes such as Shopping Malls, Cinema’s, Restaurants and Bars to keep the family occupied during the hottest months

Excursions to the desert, are also popular and groups of people camp in the sand dunes as a cheap way of breaking away from the routine in the city.  Alternatively, you may wish to drive to another of the Emirates:  Fujeirah, is a picturesque escape location only a couple hours drive from Dubai.

Not surprisingly water sports are popular in the UAE and the long coastline is ideal for a wide range of activities. Sailing enthusiasts enjoy the prevailing mild winds of the Gulf for most of the year while power-boating, jet skiing, raft racing, wind surfing, swimming, scuba diving and fishing are also very popular.

Another prominent leisure pursuit in UAE is a trip to one of the many ‘Amusement Parks’ in Dubai.  Dubai is rapidly becoming one the prominent tourist destinations in the world and as such new amusement parks and tourist attractions are being developed constantly, these include the ‘Wild Wadi’ Water Park, an Indoor Ski Slope, and the World Village Leisure Park.

Sports lovers can make the most of a wide range of facilities and join competitive leagues that bring together participants in Cricket, Tennis, Basketball, and Football and Rugby. Most of the large hotels provide top class sporting facilities and the Gyms and Health Clubs they provide are always busy.
